Discovering local culture: A journey to experience the essence of a fishing village

Form 1 students took a trip to Ap Lei Chau to gain insights into the cultural practices of the fishing village located in the Aberdeen area. They boarded a sightseeing boat to tour the fishing port, where they listened to the stories of individuals who have spent their lives on the water. They participated in a field trip, learned to sing traditional fisherfolk songs, and experienced the unique customs of the fishing village. Their visit to historical landmarks such as the Hung Shing Temple and Shui Yuet Kung Temple left them in awe of the rich history associated with Hong Kong's fishing villages. This experiential learning opportunity allowed students to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Hong Kong's cultural heritage.
