War Through the Lens: Aerial Perspectives of Kowloon Peninsula

Date: 05/11/2025

The exhibition "Warscape from Above: Aerial Photographs of the Kowloon Peninsula During Wartime, 1941-1945," organized by the Hong Kong Baptist University History Department under the "Hong Kong Spatial History Research Project" and funded by the Development Bureau's Conserving Historic Buildings Fund, has successfully concluded on October 21.

Our Form 4 and Form 5 students served as guides and assisted in three public tours, demonstrating exceptional performance and receiving praise from various sectors.

Students from the History Department also took this opportunity to visit the exhibition, appreciating the collection of World War II aerial photographs of Hong Kong gathered from around the globe, while gaining a deeper understanding of the history and urban changes during the Japanese occupation.

Through this guided tour and hands-on learning experience, students have enhanced their awareness of Hong Kong's history and gained a new perspective on the invaluable aspects of local culture.
