Guided by Alumni: Exploring Career Paths in Medical Insurance and Healthcare
Date: 22/04/2026
Alumni Association committee member Mr. Carlos Chan recently served as a senior mentor and welcomed Form 4 and Form 5 students from our school studying Business, Accounting and Financial Studies during a career exploration activity. Throughout the activity, he guided the students to learn about Hong Kong’s private medical insurance industry as well as medical institutions, giving them an opportunity to understand the sector’s operations firsthand.
The program was both informative and engaging. Students took part in a series of activities including an introduction to the private medical insurance industry, an office tour, a presentation on community pharmacies, and a sharing session on the work of registered pharmacists. During the visits and talks, students remained active and curious, asking thoughtful questions about recruitment requirements, industry prospects, and the application of artificial intelligence in the healthcare field.
Drawing on his experience as someone already in the workforce, Mr. Carlos Chan offered attentive guidance and support to the students throughout the event. He shared practical insights and valuable workplace reflections. He also hoped that these hands-on visits would help students broaden their horizons and prepare them more confidently for their future studies and career development.
This activity reflects the spirit of unity of the Alumni Association and its mission of passing on knowledge and experience from one generation to the next. Looking ahead, we will continue to work together to organize more career guidance activities, so that alumni-student care and shared experience can continue to grow and be passed on year after year.
